Cara Townsend began her career as a public defender in Central Oregon and the San Francisco Bay area. Throughout her decade working in indigent defense, she established her versatility in courtroom advocacy, marked by a robust portfolio of jury trials, appeals, administrative hearings, and intricate and novel motion practice. With an unwavering commitment to legal excellence, Ms. Townsend has garnered a reputation for her adeptness in navigating complex legal landscapes.
In 2021, Ms. Townsend embarked on a new chapter by joining Potter Handy, representing Plaintiffs in ADA suits across California. Her transition also heralded her leadership of the Fertility Tort team within the firm, where she demonstrates a blend of strategic acumen and compassionate advocacy. Beyond her responsibilities at Potter Handy, Ms. Townsend extends her legal acumen to counsel a municipal animal welfare organization, underscoring her commitment to societal welfare and ethical legal practice.
